Dr. Lillian Tom-Orme, Ph.D., MS, MPH, RN, FAAN, is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Epidemiology, Department of Medicine. She is a member of the Dine’ or Navajo Nation. Dr. Tom-Orme received her masters and doctoral degrees in transcultural nursing and health from the University of Utah. She is a co-investigator on a longitudinal public health study on the Navajo reservation and a principal investigator on a patterns of cancer care study in South Dakota. In addition, Dr. Tom-Orme serves as the Native American Research Liaison to the National Cancer Institute. She serves on a number of local and national committees including the Office on Women's Health (DHHS), the Indian Health Service Institutional Review Board, the Native Research Network, and the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurses Associations Board.
